The Royal Northern & Clyde Yacht Club can trace its origins back to 1824 and has been the home of successful yacht racing since then right up to the present day. Currently we have two young sailors very much in the frame for Olympic selection.
The Club boasts a magnificent Clubhouse in Rhu and its own mooring field. Regular racing is provided both on the East Patch and in the Gareloch. A strong cruising presence is also maintained with regular musters.
We are a recognised RYA teaching establishment and provide regular tuition in dinghies for youngsters, keelboats and others such as powerboats, first aid and shore-based navigation. The Club operates a ground-breaking co-ownership programme which makes a fleet of nine Sonars available for Members’ use.
The Clubhouse is open every day with bar and dining facilities available. There is an extensive social programme, mainly in the winter, and a variety of rooms are available for private functions.
The Royal Northern & Clyde Yacht Club welcomes new members and an application form can be found on our Membership page.
