Cadets Sailing - Evening Sessions 2020

RNCYC and Lomond School are again working together to deliver Cadet sailing throughout the sailing season from April to October.

Due to popularity, we have continued to offer the advanced groups to support the ongoing development of our younger members.

Summer term cadet sessions are open for 8 to 16 year-olds and are based at Rhu Marina. They run on Thursday evenings from 23rd April – 11th June (inclusive) as two sessions:

  • 16:00 - 18:30  – Session 1   Learn to Sail - RYA Stage 1 to Stage 3 (Oppies & Toppers)

  • 18:00 - 20:30 – Session 2  Improvers & Racing (Topper & Fevas)

Due to the range of groups, we can accommodate both beginners and more advanced sailors, but it is important that sailing experience is indicated on the consent form to enable us to allocate sailors to an appropriate group. Places in each group are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Requirements: Wetsuit, wetsuit boots/trainers (to get wet), rash-vest/thermal top, cagoule, (waterproof jacket), gloves, hat. A buoyancy aid is also required but can be provided if necessary.

Cost: £100

All participants must be either a cadet member of RNCYC (£32) or a member of Lomond School Sailing Club.

Participants should have the relevant logbook for their course, these can be purchased from the RNCYC Office for £6.99.
